Profile

Oh well, maybe I should tell here something about myself eh? Let’s see, so where to start… My real name is Juha, but some people call me psyanide whether or not I’m online. I was born a bit over 27 years ago in Karkkila, Finland and lived here ever since. I live in “downtown”, Karkkila in an apartment with my beautiful girlfriend, Susanna.

I currently work as a stock worker, a forklift driver and so on at the Moventas factory but I consider myself to be a graphic designer, since I’ve worked as one for many years in my previous life. I really like to listen to music, go to bars and have a couple of drinks with my friends, go to live concerts, watch sci-fi movies & series, take photographs all over, waste my time on the Internet, play some survival horror video games on various platforms and browse and organize my comic book collection. And when I’m up to it, I really enjoy also reading, mainly autobiographies from interesting people and characters in the rock ‘n’ roll industry.

I think I have greenish eyes, although they seem occasionally more like bloodshot. The hair’s long and black, sometimes with added hilights. I dress up in jeans, leather and denim jackets with a shitload of sleeve badges & buttons, various rockband T-shirts and red sneakers. I’m happy to eat almost anything and I really like cold gin and medium-strenght beer. After bills and other grown-up stuff, I mainly spend my money collecting records, comic books, DVDs, toys, T-shirts and all kinds of rock band merchandise & memorabilia and video games.

I play bass guitar in a motorheaded three-piece consisting of motley crew called Honey Hellraiser with two of my very best friends. My current tool is cream white Gibson Thunderbird which you can see in the upper left corner of the design on this website. I have also a Nikki Sixx signature Epiphone Blackbird as a backup.

Music
Heavy- & hardrock in general. Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, KISS, Alice Cooper, Twisted Sister, Danko Jones, Backyard Babies, The Hellacopters, Whitesnake, Lita Ford, Poison, Europe, Bon Jovi, Crashdïet, Cinderella, RATT, Warrant, Winger, Lordi, Brother Firetribe, Thunder, Accept, U.D.O., W.A.S.P., Babylon Bombs, Monster Magnet and so on and so on, you get the picture…

Back in the day the most of my spare time included working with music and rock bands. Whether I was selling T-shirts in a Lordi concert or shooting promotional or live photographs of a promising group of newcomers, I just simply loved it and I could have not lived without the business. I’ve toured around the Europe with Lordi twice and got to meet some really interesting people and some of my biggest heroes and idols, like John Corabi, Ronnie James Dio, Dee Snider, Bruce Kulick, Udo Dirkschneider and Eric Singer just to mention a few.

Nowadays I’m a bit more settled down but I really, really still enjoy rock music and everything that comes with it. Especially now that we have our own band to perform with.

Movies & TV
The first movie I remember ever seeing is Aliens and ever since I’ve been addicted to science fiction and horror in general. Aliens is still the number one flick for me. Other great titles I can’t get enough are the Evil Dead -series, Romero’s Living Dead saga, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Hellboy, Spider-Man 2, Snatch and of course, This Is Spinal Tap and Napoleon Dynamite on the comedy front. I enjoy good adventure films too, like Indiana Jones and Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogies. Also on TV, sci-fi has the biggest impact on me. I can watch over and over again series like Farscape, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica (old & new), Stargate SG-1, Atlantis & Universe, Lost and The Outer Limits (1995-2002). On the lighter side the best ones are Family Guy, The Simpsons, Futurama, Friends and various British sitcoms. I also like to watch some good historic documentaries.

Comics
Like all the above, comics are also one thing still in my life. I started reading and collecting comic books before I went to school and I still do. Spider-Man has always been the coolest character for me. Other enjoyable titles in the Marvel universe are Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Ghost Rider and Iron Man. And those newer Ultimate -titles aren’t that bad either. From Image Comics I love Todd McFarlane’s Spawn. I’m missing just a couple of books but these are so hard to find here in Finland. Maybe one day I have them all. Mike Mignola’s Hellboy and B.P.R.D. are also terrific books. And speaking of Dark Horse, I have to mention Aliens Vs. Predator comics also. Awesome! Some titles I like to buy as individual issues and some as trade paperbacks or other collected formats.

Toys
Ok, one more thing I’d like to bring out is this. I like toys, there you have it. I collect them and I like to display them in a proper fashion. Mainly I’m into Alien and Predator action figures and other toys and statues, but there’s also Hellboy figs, Marvel super heroes, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, Family Guy, Lost, music figures like Mötley Crüe and Alice Cooper + some miscellaneous stuff. Quality toys are very hard to get here in Finland, so I’ve bought a lot of them abroad from places like Hamburg (Germany), Vienna (Austria), London (UK) and Birmingham (UK) with a hell of a lot better supply. Most of my toys are from McFarlane Toys but there’s some from Mezco, Hasbro and other products too. If I should get any more of this stuff, we’d have to move to a bigger apartment, or throw some of the older junk away, but we all know that won’t happen…
